2015 Shanghai ‘Eye Do’ Teenagers’ Eyesight Health Project Completed

“Eye Do” teenagers’ eyesight health project in Shanghai supported by SSCLF - Essilor Special Fund was completed by Stepping Stones. In 2015, “Eye Do” project was implemented in Zhenxing Primary School, Yongmei Primary School, Shuangjiang Primary School and Huaboli Primary School in Shanghai. The students receiving visual acuity checkup reached 4365, of which 777 students received free glasses.

 

The project mainly provides the students vision screening, allots glasses for the students who need to wear glasses, provides operation funds support for the students who need to receive strabismus surgery and organize “Eye Protection” interactive course for school teachers and students to upgrade their awareness of eye protection and related knowledge. The project has achieved a significant improvement in the children's daily activities and studies and enhanced the students’ subjective perception of vision, self-confidence and independence.
