On December 7, 2016, a charity auction gala, sponsored by SSCLF - Thong Public Welfare Fund, successfully concluded “Over the Mountains” themed public welfare photography exhibition. The seven – day photography exhibition displayed more than 100 pieces of photos taken by some photographers who went deep into western China mountainous areas. These photographs showcase the real living environment of the children in remote mountainous areas and local customs and practices in all directions and from multi - angles, attracting many residents and tourists to visit. With the closing of the exhibition, nearly two hundred people from all walks of life gather together at the Peace Hotel to attend the charity auction gala at which 500,000 yuan was raised for the children “Over the Mountains”.
At the charity auction gala, pieces of jewelry, paintings and calligraphy and high-grade cheongsam customization donated by individuals and enterprises were pursued by the participants. A nanmu root carving "Mother" was bought by a woman after several rounds of bidding. Many participants said they are willing to use their own modest power to make the children closer to the realization of their dream and closer to the future. It is reported that the fund raised at the charity auction will be used for SSCLF- Zhong Public Welfare Fund’s "One Thousand Person Public Welfare Project” in western China poor mountainous areas to support the local children to learn the skill of national art and craft to live on while inheriting the endangered national culture heritage.
