On April 7, 2017, another SSCLF’s “Baton Relay” farming entrepreneurship project, the 8th experimental unit, has been successfully launched in in Linqu county of Shandong province in Eastern China after the projects implemented in Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Anhui and Heilongjiang provinces.
Cooperatives leader Ma Yongchng will lead 20 farming households to implement the Hawthorn planting project in the next 3 years, supporting their return hometown venture.
The project will help 20 needy farming households to improve their living conditions. Each household will receive mortgage-free loans of 50,000 yuan with consolidated technical guidance and the assurance of purchase-and-sale from the co-operative to achieve poverty alleviation through 3 years of Hawthorn planting.
Once the goal is achieved, the co-op leader will select another group of households to do the same. The sustainable mode of development will promote the local farming industry and encourage migrant workers to return to their hometowns and engage in local entrepreneurship, while also easing their left-behind children's problems.
